Contagious
Maladict was leaning against a tree, not so stylishly this time. The vampire was shaking, and his eyes were unfocused. He was getting worse, everyone could see that. Worried, Polly walked over. As she approached, something changed in the air, and all at once Maladict was much closer, his face inches from her own. She felt a sudden, strange desire to kiss him- and then it was over. Polly blinked. Otto Chriek had said that a vampire's hallucinations could be contagious. Polly hoped that it had only been a hallucination. After all, she was here to get Paul, and then they would go home. She had a life to get back to, and she didn't have time to be kissing soldiers. Right? |
