This time, it's a moment at the end of the novel, when Polly decides to go back to the army and meet Maladict...
The vampire gave her a smile in way only vampire could. The crestfallen smile of a black sheep, if sheeps had different teeth.
"I thought I should give it another try" she said.
(might not be the exact quotation... but I had to translate the french translation, so...)
When reading this, I wonder why Maladict looked "crestfallen". She hadn't done anything wrong after all. She had just "vanished" when everything was over. But maube she felt guilty for leaving without warning?
And was the hell did she want to try to do again? to Seduce Polly? To kiss her? To have hot sex with her?:D
You can imagine soooo much things for those few sentences, seriously...:D
Oh, and I forgot Polly's weapon here... And Maladict should probably be wearing a female uniform, but it didn't feel right... I have no trouble seeing her as a woman (a friend spoiled me, so I knew she wasn't a man before even reading the book) but I can't see her in a dress. Well, not in a dress one would wear as a soldier anyway...:D
And I don't know how Maladict can survive in the sun like that. But then again, I've never truly understood when Discworld's vampire would have troubles with the light and when they wouldn't...>.>
