Polly Perks. A Borogravian sergeant, the first (or one of the first) recognised female one.
     Polly was raised in Plotz, the daughter of the keeper of The Duchess. Her mother passed away before she came of age, and she became the de facto manager of Inn, taking part in book-keeping, cleaning and barkeeping.
     Polly originally joined the army to find and bring back her brother Paul, ended up in the Monstrous Regiment, kneed Prince Heinrich of Zlobenia in the nuts, made it to the Ankh-Morpork Times, and conducted peace negotiations with His Grace Commander Sir Samuel Vimes, the Duke of Ankh.
     Her father still survives, and will probably marry Eva Clambers.
     Polly returned to the army after war with Zlobenia broke out again the following spring, but at this time she had in her possession a list of names, given to her by the retired Sergeant Jackrum.
